The Clown & The Neutral Face
In this workshop The Neutral Clown Face is the main theme. In my work as a
clown and trainer I often see that people enjoy the neutral face.
It means that the audience decides what is funny and what isn't.
We will have a closer look at the authentic face and at the way that the body
talks. What is the difference between playing the clown and being the clown?
One of the great clowns, Stan, from Laurel & Hardy was famous for his neutral
face. He seemed to have a cloud of laughter around him.
So it might happen that we are going to have lots of fun this weekend. (I warned
you!)
An important key is not doing much. Often we think that there's a lot needed to
make a moment or an act funny and clear. But our body has a clear way of
speaking when we start to really look at each other. It takes guts to wait and
see what happens!
How can we not put a label on what we want to express?
Where does our clown start and
What makes us funny clowns?
